![]() ![]() On Windows/Mac, I recommend using View NX2 (freeware from Nikon) or Capture NX2 (paidware from Nikon). The interface is a bit strange, but it works well. I'd like comments from others about this shooting RAW and editing with GIMP. Is shooting RAW, transferring to TIF or PNG, editing and then exporting into JPEG a waste of time maybe I should just continue editing the Nikon JPEG files? Or will I get better results editing the larger, non-compressed TIF or PNG files? Would there be any better file formats to use other than TIF or PNG? Once edited, I'd export the edits into JPEG for uploading to flickr. What format should I convert the NEF files into for editing with GIMP? I've tried TIF and PNG, which seem to work well. I've installed the latest irFanView and plugins to my computer. I'm considering shooting RAW plus JPEG files, which I'll save on my computer. ![]() I have always used GIMP to edit my Nikon JPEG files with great results. ![]()
